LOVEBOT

About

LOVEBOT is a psychologist chatbot, an artificial intelligence trained for psychology therapy. The video shows a possible patient-bot interaction based on algorithms specialized in personal storytelling. The artwork reflects on the potential and limits of human-machine interaction, taking its cue from one of the most human relationships, that between therapist and patient. What value does this have in the absence of empathy, sympathy, proxemics and physicality? At a time when most therapies have been moved to online platforms, what happens if we go further? What limits and advantages can such a formulated therapy have? What transformation do concepts such as trust, shyness, privacy have? The work reflects on these issues through the dehumanization of an extremely humanized practice.
