Stable Unstable Earth

About
Our planet is a complex and fragile system. Accelerating progression and human activities drive environmental impacts that can destabilize the Earth. The Planetary Boundaries concept identifies nine biophysical processes that regulate the stability and resilience of the Earth system. Boundaries are proposed for each of these processes, that delimit where large-scale irreversible environmental changes are expected to occur.
Stable Unstable Earth is a generative and interactive audiovisual piece where you can explore how our accelerating human impact drives the exceedance of the Planetary Boundaries and their self-reinforcing interactions. Listen to the dynamic interactions between the Earth system processes themselves, or interfere directly with the processes’ inherent system logics.
